into the salty sea
The episode of Gossip Girls I just watched really parallels my life. Completely relevant. The day is Thanksgiving.
Exactly a year ago, I had lunch with my family and dinner with Johnny's family. There was a party, so there were more families there. Berna's parents just happened to know Johnny's grandparents. We all hung out in the driveway and rode on Christian's long board that he let Johnny borrow. And Dean eventually came. It was nice walking around and just hanging out. Mandy and Kevin alternated their celebrations between their families. I knew they had a good time too.
This year, since the vagabonds are no more, the holidays are a bit different. We'll spend time with our own families instead of trying to balance everything out. We won't have to worry about bringing our significant other to parties or anything. And black Friday won't involve the sets of best friends sleeping over and meeting up at the mall.
It's going to be so different. So lonely? Not lonely, but more like ... relieving in a way. Of course, it shouldn't take one day for us to count our blessings.
Since I'm feeling nostalgic, I'm very thankful for all I've been through this year with the vagabonds. I miss our bond, our little band of misfits. I miss the compatibility of us altogether. Of course, I can't take it all back. I'm glad I went through it all and I wouldn't mind reliving those moments again. Thank you Johnny, Kevin, and Mandy. It was a nice run.
